Refinishing & Reglazing

13 FAQ's

1. How long does the refinishing process take? Most standard bathtub or tile refinishing projects take about 2 to 6 hours from start to finish. Larger or more complex projects like multiple surfaces in bathrooms and kitchens may take a bit longer, but nearly all of our services are completed in one day.
2. When can I use the surface again? You can typically use a refinished surface after 24 hours, though full curing can take 48–72 hours with our VOC compliant products and professional processes.

3. How long does a refinished surface last? With proper care and cleaning, a professionally reglazed surface can last 10–15 years or more. Whether it is a bathtub and surround, shower stall and pan, tile and grout lines, or sink and bathroom vanity, our process is built for durability and made to extend the life of your existing surfaces.
4. Is refinishing really as good as replacing? Unless you need all new fixtures, Yes. Visually and functionally, refinishing delivers like-new results for a fraction of the cost. It's typically 50–75% less expensive than full replacement and avoids demolition, plumbing, or downtime.
5. Do you repair grout, tile cracks, bathtub rust, or chips before refinishing? We repair grout work and lines, damaged tile cracks and broken tile, rust damage, chips, holes, stains, and other surface imperfections before applying the final finish. Major cracks, chipping, erosion, grout repairs etc. repairs can incur an extra fee. Repairs ensure a smooth, uniform, long-lasting result.

6. What surfaces can you refinish? We refinish bathtubs, tile, surrounds, grout lines, countertops, backsplashes, sinks, shower stalls, and floors made of common surfaces like porcelain, fiberglass, acrylic, metal, and cultured marble. Kitchen surfaces are often the same or similar to bathroom surfaces and can all be repaired and refinished using the same processes.
7. Can you change the color of my tub or tile? Yes! We offer a wide range of solid colors and stone-look finishes. Whether you want a classic white or something more modern, we can help you customize your space.
8. Can you add non-slip texture? Yes, we offer optional non-slip coatings that can be added to tubs, shower bases, and floors to improve safety.

9. Will there be strong odors or mess during the process? There may be mild odors, but we use ventilation systems and protective materials to minimize fumes and keep your home clean. Odors usually fade within 24 hours. We recommend pregnant mothers, those sensitive to smells and small pets leaving the immediate bathroom area during the refinishing process, just to err on the side of caution. Any associated mess is typically minimal although overspray and tape accidentally removing a wall covering can occur. We prepare the area for such incidences however they can still occur.
10. Do you offer a warranty? Yes, we probably offer the best fine print warranty in the state. We stand behind our work. Most refinishing projects come with a written warranty, and we’re always available to answer questions or handle touch-ups if needed.

11. How should I care for my refinished surface? Use non-abrasive cleaners (vinegar and dish soap shines beautifully!), avoid harsh chemicals or scrub brushes, and don’t use suction mats with cups. We’ll give you specific aftercare instructions to keep your surfaces looking fresh for years.
12. How much is refinishing? Refinishing costs vary based on the scope of the work and the location, but in general services can range from $550-$2500 for multiple surfaces and finishes. Just let us know your location and either send us a pic or give us a brief description of your interests for a free estimate for your bathroom or kitchen surfaces.
13. Are DIY tub and tile paint kits good? For a fast change that will not last much longer than a year, DIY kits from home stores are perfect. Many of our calls and projects involve clients or their tenants who have tried DIY kits that are now failing and peeling. We arrive on site with professional HVLP and PPE equipment with specialized laboratory created VOC compliant products, which are applied via multiple steps during the repair and refinishing processes. The results between DIY kits and professional refinishing services are non comparable. The removal of previous inferior products such as DIY paint kits involve an extra fee to the refinishing process.

Safety Inserts

10 FAQ's

1. What is a bathtub safety insert? A bathtub safety insert is a custom cut-out installed into your existing tub to create a step-through opening, making it easier and safer to enter and exit the bathtub — especially for seniors, individuals with mobility challenges, or anyone looking to reduce the risk of slips and falls.
2. Do you remove the bathtub? No. That’s the best part, our process is no rip-out and no replacement. We modify your existing tub and install a durable insert that creates safe access while maintaining the structure and appearance of your bathroom.

3. How long does the installation take? Installations are typically completed in one day, often in just a few hours. There’s minimal mess, no plumbing changes, and very little disruption to your home, even if you choose to refinish the bathtub at the same time.
4. Is it ADA compliant? Yes. The insert is designed to increase accessibility and can help meet ADA recommendations for safer bathing access. It’s a great solution for aging-in-place, assisted living, and multi-generational households.

5. What tub types can it be installed in? Safety inserts can be installed in porcelain, fiberglass, acrylic, and metal tubs of nearly any size or shape — including alcove tubs, standard bathtubs, and shower/tub combos.
6. Can I choose the size or color of the insert? We offer standard and wide insert options to suit different tub widths and user needs. Inserts are in neutral white to match existing surfaces.

7. Will it look out of place in my bathroom? Not at all. The insert is finished to blend with your existing tub, and the cut is made clean and professional. We prioritize aesthetics as well as function.
8. Can I still use the tub for soaking? You can still use the tub for showers or seated bathing, but soaking is no longer possible after the insert is installed unless you request a water-tight plug option, which we can discuss during your consultation.
9. Who is this for? Our step-through inserts are ideal for: - Seniors or aging adults - People with limited mobility - Caregivers modifying a loved one’s home - Homeowners who want safer bathing without remodeling
10. How much are bathtub inserts? At a fraction of the cost of big company bathtub replacement, fiberglass and plastic bathtub step through insert installations without bathtub refinishing generally starts around $1400. Larger inserts and cast iron and metal tubs, as well as optional refinishing services, can increase costs. Just contact us for more information.
